Pharmacist

An established grocery retailer in Brunswick, Maryland is hiring a Pharmacist on a direct hire basis. The Pharmacist works closely with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure efficient inventory management, precise prescription filling, patient counseling, immunizations, and high standards of customer service, while assisting in the management, training, and development of pharmacy associates. Responsibilities include monitoring weekly sales and inventory levels, ordering pharmaceutical stock, weighing, measuring, mixing drugs, and filling prescriptions accurately, advising self-medicating patients, dispensing non-prescription medications, maintaining communication with health and insurance professionals, performing patient immunizations, scheduling pharmacy associates, assisting with training and development of department personnel, controlling expenses and labor costs, reducing losses due to shrink, addressing customer complaints, counseling on prescription-related issues, maintaining a safe and clean department to company, health department, and OSHA standards, maintaining department records, and submitting required pharmacy reports. Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree; HIPAA certification; current Maryland Pharmacist License; current Maryland Immunization License; advanced knowledge of pharmacy department operations.
