About Artistic Integrated Systems
Artistic Integrated Systems is a technology integration company specializing in premium residential and light commercial systems throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
We provide professionally designed and integrated solutions for smart home automation, audio/video, lighting control, motorized shades, networking, surveillance, security, access control, intercom, and life safety.
We are expanding our sales team and seeking a Smart Home Sales Specialist / Business Development Professional who can develop new business, build professional relationships, and create a long-term book of clients and referral partners.
This is an active outside-sales position. We are looking for someone who will get into the marketplace, develop relationships, prospect for opportunities, and build business—not simply wait for incoming leads.
TWO CAREER TRACKSTRACK 1 — Experienced Smart Home / AV Sales Professional
You have previous experience selling smart-home automation, custom AV, lighting, security, low-voltage, electrical, or related technology solutions.
Ideally, you already have relationships with architects, interior designers, builders, developers, real estate professionals, electrical contractors, property managers, showrooms, or luxury homeowners.
Candidates bringing an established industry network or book of contacts may qualify for an enhanced compensation package.
TRACK 2 — Outside Sales / Business Development Professional
You may not have smart-home or AV experience, but you know how to sell, prospect, develop relationships, follow up, and close.
We are interested in successful sales professionals from industries such as luxury real estate, construction, interior design, lighting/showroom sales, electrical, security, telecommunications, technology, home improvement, and B2B professional services.
We can teach technology. You bring the drive, professionalism, relationship-building ability, and desire to sell.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will be responsible for creating, developing, and closing new business opportunities while building a professional network that produces repeat and referral business.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop relationships with architects and architectural firms
• Build relationships with interior designers and design firms
• Develop builder, remodeler, and contractor relationships
• Prospect luxury residential real estate professionals
• Develop relationships with lighting and design showrooms, including premium retailers such as Visual Comfort and similar businesses
• Develop relationships with developers and property managers
• Build relationships with electrical contractors and other trades
• Identify existing low-voltage projects where Artistic can provide additional services
• Conduct cold calls, outbound prospecting, and field sales
• Visit potential professional partners and active projects
• Attend networking and industry events
• Use LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and other appropriate platforms for prospecting and relationship development
• Consistently follow up with prospects and referral partners
• Maintain relationships with existing Artistic customers
• Identify upgrade, service, and additional-system opportunities
• Ask satisfied customers and professional partners for referrals
• Maintain accurate CRM, contact, pipeline, and sales activity information
• Build and maintain your own professional sales contact book
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for either track, candidates should have:
• Previous sales, outside-sales, account-development, or business-development experience
• Demonstrated ability to prospect for new business
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
• Professional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability and willingness to make outbound calls and initiate new relationships
• Strong follow-up and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple prospects and opportunities simultaneously
• Basic proficiency with CRM, email, mobile applications, and common business technology
• Ability to meet professionally with homeowners, architects, designers, builders, executives, and other business professionals
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to travel throughout the Washington, DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia market
• Ability to visit client homes, construction sites, showrooms, professional offices, and other project locations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The following experience is valuable but not required for Track 2 candidates:
• Smart-home or home-automation sales
• Custom audio/video
• Crestron
• Crestron Home
• Control4
• Lutron lighting and shading systems
• Security and surveillance
• Access control
• Networking/Wi-Fi
• Low-voltage systems
• Luxury residential construction
• Architectural or interior-design industry experience
• Builder/developer relationships
• Luxury real estate relationships
• Lighting or design showroom experience
• Existing professional referral network or industry contact book
Candidates with significant industry experience and an established professional network may be considered directly for Track 1.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
We are looking for someone who is both a hunter and a relationship builder.
You should be comfortable picking up the telephone and calling someone you have never met, but equally comfortable developing that first conversation into a professional relationship that lasts for years.
Success will be measured by more than closed sales. We will also look at the development of:
Qualified Opportunities • Sales Pipeline • New Clients • Architects • Designers • Builders • Real Estate Relationships • Showroom Partners • Referral Sources • Repeat Business • Client Retention
Your professional contact book should become stronger every month.
The objective is not simply to find one customer.
We want you to develop relationships with people who can introduce Artistic to the next 10 customers.
